Chobe’s Angels are Africa’s first group of all-female safari guides. These twenty-two women at the Chobe Game Lodge in Botswana have made history in a traditionally male dominated field.
“Our guides are strong women, and that is special. My guests are always happy to see female guides. Some even say 'LADY POWER' with a smile and that brings joy to my heart,” says Lebo.
“This team means a lot to the girls who look at guides and think it’s a job just for men. These aspiring young ladies just need to learn how to interpret natural environment and heritage in a meaningful and professional way so you can teach your guests.”
“I am here today working as a professional guide because of my passion. If we sit for the same exam as male guides, why wouldn’t we make it!?’ A woman is a mother, so safety is natural for us. We listen very well, so we know what the guests want. Women are more responsible and less aggressive drivers than men. A woman is a nurturer, achiever and encourages everyone to have a better world, one where nobody is left behind. Women are the pillars that keep the house together.”
“Enjoy your job and go the extra mile!”
