On an assignment for Islands magazine I sailed from Indonesia to Papua New Guinea in a modest sized sailboat, stopping at a few of the 17,508 small islands that stretch along the way. Each one was unique as we witnessed the gradual change from Asian looks and customs to darker skin the further east we sailed. After a swim this boy climbed a tree to gather two coconuts and together we shared a long drink.
