I took this photo in South Sudan while on assignment in Africa for BRAC, an international non-profit that focuses on alleviating poverty through the empowerment of skills training and micro-lending especially for women in developing countries. South Sudan is currently the newest country the world, burdened by fractioned tribal warfare and its influx of refugees. I loved the tenacity and resiliency of these children that despite being surrounded by such hardships were still focused on their play and practicing their soccer speed sprinting around these plastic water bottles. Life as it should be for all children world-wide.
