On April 25, 2015 a 7.8 earthquake rocked the small Himalayan country of Nepal killing more than 8,000, injuring at least 21,000 and leaving thousands of people homeless. Nepal had been my home for many years so this is story that touched me deeply. I arrived back in the country shortly after the second earthquake hit in May 2015 to document some of the ongoing struggles of the earthquake relief efforts and recovery. I have always been struck by the resiliency and tenacity of the Nepalese people and true to form they were each trying to help one another in some way. It is a very poor country; one in four of Nepal’s 28 million people live on a daily income of less than $1.25 a day. Through this fund I was able to raise thousands of dollars to support as the children of this country as it continues its efforts to rebuild. To continue to help please visit.
