Millions more were displaced from their homes, and the country still is challenged by rebel infiltration. A woman is raped every minute in the Congo. Organizations like Women for Women create income-generating projects like basket weaving to help create financial stability and a sense of community for the women. Each basket takes about two hours to make and they sell them in the local market.
