Trinidad, Cuba. Juan Bastida on his 83rd birthday. Juan galloped up on his horse looking like Cuba central casting with that leaf behind his ear and a cigar hanging from his mouth. He looked so happy and spry that I couldn’t resist asking to take his picture. He told me it was his 83rd birthday. After I shot his photo I invited him to have a celebratory birthday drink on me.
